AC Milan are currently working to secure a contract renewal with midfielder Franck Kessie but reports have suggested there is some distance between the parties.

Kessie spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport via MilanNews.it and commented on the matter:

“I’m proud to have chosen Milan and my intention isn’t to leave. On the contrary, I want to stay forever. Now I have the Olympics, but when I come back I will fix everything. I just want Milan, Maldini and Massara know my thinking. I like it so much when the ultras sing ‘one President, there is only one President’. Well, I want to be one for life. At least in football.”

“Did I hear from the club? Of course, we had a chat and we constantly text with Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, they know my thoughts perfectly.”

“I want to go on as much as possible in the Olympic tournament. At the end, Milan will have me for as long as they want. Tired? And why? This is my job: running, blocking and restarting. The more I play, the better I feel. I’m super motivated, I can’t wait to hug my team-mates and coach Pioli again. A season full of commitments awaits us. We wanted the Champions League at any cost. And obtained with merit. Now we must live up to the name that Milan has in Europe.”
