AC Milan took part in a triangular friendly in Saint-Vincent (Valle d’Aosta) against Sampdoria and Swiss outfit Servette. The Rossonere debuted the new away shirt for the season too.
As per the report on Milan’s website, the Rossonere recorded two draws against Servette and Sampdoria, especially given the fact that AC Milan were missing a fair few players. In the first game, against Servette, the Rossonere looked dangerous going forward and went close first through Bergamaschi, who was put through by Thomas, and then by Lindsey herself, who struck it well but it was straight at the goalkeeper. Servette offered very little threat and Maurizio Ganz’s side went close again as Giacinti struck it across the face of goal from close range. After the break, Stapelfeldt fired just wide. It ended 0-0.
Against Sampdoria, meanwhile, the team maintained the philosophy of creative build-up and looking to run in behind, but they just couldn’t find a way through. Minutes were also handed to Kirschstein, Cortesi - who twice came close to scoring - and to Dal Brun from the Primavera.
The Rossonere making their European debut on 16 August against Zürich in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
