Gianluca di Marzio is reporting that AC Milan are keen on finding a solution to renew the contract of midfielder Franck Kessie this summer as he enters the final 12 months of his current deal. The Ivory Coast international has been a leader for the side and has become a fan favourite over the past two seasons. Kessie has been dominant and one of the core elements of Stefano Pioli’s side. Milan must avoid a Donnarumma and Calhanoglu type situation hence the issue needs to be dealt with as soon as possible. The report notes that talks have been ongoing and a meeting with the agent of the player George Atangana is set for the coming week to resolve the situation. As per previous reports, Kessie wants a 6 million per year contract but Milan are not willing to go past 4 million.
Kessie has played 184 games for Milan in 4 seasons and has scored 30 goals and provided 15 assists as a defensive midfielder.
