AC Milan took on Serie C side Modena in their second pre season friendly ahead of their European Summer Tour starting next week. The players and staff wore ‘FORZA IVAN’ shirts to show their support for Milan’s CEO Gazidis who has been diagnosed with throat cancer and is set to undergo treatment.

Milan opened the scoring within 2 minutes as Brahim Diaz announced himself as the new no. 10 for the Rossoneri with an amazingly nimble one-two with Theo Hernandez in the box and a slotted finish to make it 1-0. Soon after, Diaz was causing trouble again as he managed to pick up a loose ball and hug the touch line before launching a lobbed cross to the back post for Rafael Leao to easily head home for 2-0. Fikayo Tomori cushioned a header into the back of the net from Ismael Bennacer long ball into the box for 3-0 in the 9th minute. For 4-0, Diaz found Leao on the left wing in space, Leao crossed the ball to the back post where Rade Krunic headed it in. Finally, at the 42nd minute Milan had a free kick which Bennacer rolled to the left and Hernandez blasted past the wall and past the keeper to make it 5-0 before half time.

The second half was muted as Milan had a number of chances but were unable to finish off after Stefano Pioli had rotated the squad. Diaz and Ballo-Toure made their unofficial debuts in this game. Maldini, Colombo and Gabbia had the opportunity to show why they should remain at the club. Pobega was absent due to an injury.
