Milan have tried to make it work but between the formation and the player’s injuries, Caldara is a failed story.

Gianluca di Marzio is reporting that AC Milan centre back Mattia Caldara who just returned from an 18 month loan at Atalanta is likely to leave this summer. He had a 15 million euro buy out clause in his Atalanta deal but the club opted not to exercise this due to his injury record which has been a problem ever since he left Juventus for Milan. The report is noting the newly promoted Venezia are looking to reinforce their defence as they look to make a good first impression in Serie A and are targeting Caldara for the role. The side have made an approach to Milan to sign the defender but it remains to be seen what the proposal is.

The agent of the player Beppe Riso has spoken to Tutto Mercato Web via MilanNews.it to say:

“He is at Milan and in a couple of weeks we will do some evaluations. There are important and newly promoted clubs, let’s see. It’s a choice whether to go and play 38 games or go and play it somewhere else.”
