AC Milan has two players participating in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games who both kicked off yesterday. Pierre Kalulu started for France U23 and Franck Kessie started for Ivory Coast U23.
Kalulu’s side had a rough start as they were easily torn open and beaten 4-1 by Mexico. Kalulu was solid but was responsible for the second goal as his pass was intercepted and then he went in for a challenge opening a gap in the defence for Vega to make a run and score.

Kessie had an incredible opening game by comparison as he played in a more dynamic box to box role. His runs forward yielded the winning goal as his side beat Saudi Arabia 2-1. Kessie made a supporting run for Amad Diallo and got a pass at the edge of the box. He used his body well to make a quick turn and take a hard shot between two defenders to open his account at the Olympics.
