Italy took on England in the UEFA Euro 2020 Finals last night in London. Italy emerged as Champions after a 1-1 draw and then a 3-2 victory in the penalty shoot out. The star of the game and the tournament was former AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The 22 year old keeper saved two penalties as he kept out Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka but Marcus Rashford also missed hitting the post.
Donnarumma was awarded the Player of the Tournament honour as he showed his quality and class. He demonstrated why Milanisti consider him to be a generational talent and his experience at the club over the past six years moulded him into the star who brought it home for Italy.
It’s a shame that the keeper has left Milan for PSG as he would be a legend for Milan and Italy for life. An incredible tournament from the former Milan keeper and skipper as he leaves us for another journey.
