Sky via MilanLive.it are reporting that AC Milan have communicated to Chelsea that they will be activating their option to buy centre back Fikayo Tomori permanently for 28.5 million euros. The player was impressive in his six months at the club and became a fan favourite with his solid performances and his goal against Juventus in the league.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara attempted to get a discount but this was not successful, it will remain to be seen if they were able to spread the payments.

Fabrizio Romano is confirming the reports and adds that the England international will sign a contract with Milan for five years until June 2026. The player leaves Chelsea, a club where he came through the ranks of the youth side and will be seen as Milan’s long term bet at centre back.

The 23 year old played 22 games for Milan in all competitions helping to keep 7 clean sheets and qualify for the UCL.
