AC Milan Have Held Talks With Barcelona Over Their Out of Favour Attacking Midfielder

The Brazil international would be a solid option but seems like an overly expensive one at this juncture.

Marca are reporting that AC Milan have made enquiries with FC Barcelona over a potential move for outcast attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho this summer as the Rossoneri scramble to replace Hakan Calhanoglu who left on a free transfer. The report notes that Milan have held talks with the Catalan side to discuss the deal for the 29 year old and the idea seems to be a swap deal. Barcelona have reportedly been interested in Milan’s captain Alessio Romagnoli for a while now and he seems to be the likeliest name to be a part of the deal.

Coutinho played just 14 games for Barcelona last season scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists in all competitions. He was largely side-lined due to a meniscus injury. He brings lots of experience from his time at Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Barcelona to the side.

This is the second report from Marca linking us to a well known potential option for attacking midfielder. The reports seem slightly stretched and more information from more sources especially Italy should clarify the situation in the coming days.
