Manuele Baiocchini is reporting that AC Milan have decided not to take up their option to buy midfielder Soualiho Meite from Torino following his six month loan at the club. The player was frustratingly selected by Stefano Pioli off the bench over Sandro Tonali much to the shock of Milanisti but the club will not be committing the 8-9 million euros to keep him permanently.
Nicolo Schira is reporting the same and notes that there was never any doubt that Milan would not sign the player permanently.
Meite joined in the January transfer window and played as a central midfielder for Milan making 21 appearances in all competitions but starting just 9, he provided 1 assist when he played in Ibrahimovic in the derby with Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia.
This decision points to an important investment in the midfield by the management as it is currently short handed and the AFCON this summer means Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie could miss the start of the season and could have fatigue.
