AC Milan have officially confirmed on their website the permanent signing of English defender Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea. Milan have taken up the option to redeem the centre back following his six month loan at the club where he was a dominant presence and a key contributor for the side which secured Champions league football for the first time in years. The defender has signed a 4 year contract until the summer of 2025 with the club. The 23 year old grew up in the Chelsea academy but first broke out under Frank Lampard at Derby County in the Premiership.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the buy out clause is 28.5 million euros and notes that Tomori only wanted to remain with Milan.
The defender played 22 games for the Rossoneri and scored one goal against Juventus in the league. He helped Gianluigi Donnarumma keep 7 clean sheets especially the incredible five game run at the tail end of the season.
