Gianluca di Marzio via MilanNews.it is reporting that AC Milan are continuing their pursuit of Chelsea FC striker Olivier Giroud despite the London based club triggering the renewal of the player’s contract. Milan were looking to sign the veteran France international on a free transfer and this remains the goal but a small fee is a possibility. The agents of the player confirmed that he can leave for free as the renewal was to ensure he does not sign for another Premier League side for free. Milan have an agreement with Giroud on a two year contract worth 3.5 million euros per year. The hope for Milan is for the player and Chelsea to mutually terminate to facilitate the move.

MilanNews.it are reporting that Milan will only complete the signing of the 34 year old former Arsenal and Montpellier striker if he is able to exit by mutual consent. Milan will not pay a fee for the striker.
