MilanNews.it are reporting that a controversial referee designation has been made for AC Milan versus Juventus this weekend as Paolo Valeri will be in charge of the game. The referee has been a nightmare for the Rossoneri over the past two season as he has sent a couple of red cards our way and we always seem to struggle with the decisions when he is in charge.
- In the Coppa last season against Juventus, he gave Theo Hernandez a second yellow sending him off and gave the last minute penalty in favour of Juventus against Davide Calabria for a handball when the player was not facing the ball.
- He gave Gianluigi Donnarumma a straight red card whilst he was on the bench for protesting against Torino in the Coppa this season.
- He gave Zlatan Ibrahimovic a second yellow sending him off in the derby against Inter Milan where there was a bust up between Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku in the Coppa this season.
Valeri has given Milan players 13 red cards in the 33 games he has managed for us. This is not a good display and is worrying ahead of such a vital game.
