Diario AS are reporting that AC Milan could look to replace manager Stefano Pioli at the end of the season if he does not secure a top four finish after being in first place for majority of the season. Milan suffered a major collapse in 2021 and are in a precarious position where they may miss out on Champions League qualification despite their incredible season. The idea being proposed in former Rossoneri legend Andriy Shevchenko and Mauro Tassotti who are currently at the helm of the Ukrainian national team.
Sport Mediaset via MilanLive.it are reporting that Pioli is at risk but provide a wider spectrum of potential candidates following Jose Mourinho’s move to AS Roma this week. They note that Maurizio Sarri, Massimiliano Allegri and Luciano Spalletti remain options given their Serie A experience and their lack of a job at the moment. Some outside options are Paulo Fonseca and Andriy Shevchenko in the event that Milan do not qualify for the Champions League.
Meanwhile Peppe di Stefano via MilanNews.it is reporting that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will want to start next season with Pioli either way as they are pleased with his work over the past year and a half.
