Calcio Mercato are reporting that AC Milan will join a long list of clubs targeting Udinese attacking midfielder Rodrigo de Paul for the summer. The player was initially valued at 35 million euros but a lower offer could be accepted given the market conditions following the COVID-19 pandemic year. Atlético Madrid also seem to be very interested in the player.
De Paul could be considered to join as a central attacking midfielder or even a right winger hence could replace Hakan Calhanoglu or play alongside him.
Tuttosport via MilanLive.it are reporting that de Paul is the top choice but note that Milan could look to Josip Ilicic from Atalanta and Henrikh Mkhitaryan from AS Roma as cheaper alternatives.
Udinese director Pierpaolo Marino has said via Football Italia,
“Obviously, he is a player whose name is on everyone’s lips. We have the desire and strength to keep him, but if an opportunity he can’t refuse arrives, we couldn’t hold him back.”
