AC Milan face Torino in a critical tie to secure a Champions League place and a game where the nerve of the Rossoneri will be tested after their big win. Milan go into the tie without veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and thus will look to one of Ante Rebic, Hakan Calhanoglu, Brahim Diaz and Samu Castillejo to get the goals.
Key Battles
Striker vs Centre back
Ante Rebic vs Lyanco/Bremer
Rebic had a solid performance against Juventus but will need to back it up with another good display as he leads the line against Torino. The two centre backs in the back three that he will primarily deal with are very physical but slightly slow. He needs to use that pace to break free and pass more often than dribble to beat them and get behind on goal.
Striker vs Centre back
Andrea Belotti vs Fikayo Tomori
In my opinion, Belotti is a huge test for Tomori and he is a Serie A veteran with an unorthodox style of play and a knack for messy goals. It will be vital for Tomori to pressure him throughout and not give him the space on headers or shots from within the box. Belotti is very unpredictable and difficult to watch, he will also be looking to carry his team as they are not yet safe from relegation.
Right wing back vs Left back
Wilfred Singo vs Theo Hernandez
This will be another interesting battle as Milan are keen on Singo for right back in the summer. The defender will be playing wide in the 3-5-2 and is strong and fast which is usually a deadly combo against Hernandez who often overcommits going forward and leaves gaps in the defence. Hernandez will also be needed to supplement the attack as Milan will need additional firepower to break the expected wall.
Predictions
Rebic Winner
Tomori Winner
Singo Winner
