AC Milan signed Swedish youngster Emil Roback last season from the club owned by striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Hammarby IF. The striker has been playing for the Primavera this season where he has 2 goals thus far.
FotbollDirekt - a Swedish outlet - had been reporting this past week that Milan were looking to make a contract offer to the 18 year old after his impressive displays this season, the official confirmation is expected to arrive at the end of this week.
SportExpressen interviewed Roback where he confirmed that he has signed a new deal with Milan. He said:
You train quite a lot with the first team but play matches regularly with Primavera?
“Yes, it is every week that I train with the first team and it is not a wow-factor anymore, it is everyday. Now I’m used to it.”
You extended your contract after just under a year. What can you say about that?
“Yes, when I turned 18, we extended the contract so it was a total of five years. It was recently, in the last few days. It feels wonderful to sign a long contract with such a nice club. It is impossible to describe that feeling.”
The announcement from the striker confirms that he has signed a five year contract and will look to break into the first team next season.
