Calcio e Finanza are reporting that the Lega Serie A assembly voted unanimously to award the foreign TV rights for Serie A to Infront Sports (All 20 clubs voted in favour). Their offer was worth 139 million euros per season over three years beginning in 2021 and running until 2024. This exclusivity abroad will not include the United States nor the Middle East as there is already an existing deal in place with the former worth 57 million euros and negotiations are ongoing for the latter. The total that will be brought in through rights per year for the league will be around 200 million euros per year from abroad. This is dwarfed by the Premier League which brought in about 3 billion pounds from overseas rights between 2016-19.
Infront will now reportedly negotiate with local broadcasters to get Serie A available of many channels across the globe to boost the reach of Italian football.
