MilanNews.it are reporting that AC Milan have found an agreement with Mike Maignan from LOSC Lille on a five year contract at 3 million euros per year. The agreement with his club is worth 18 million euros for the player.
Gianluca di Marzio is reporting that the figure is 12 million euros plus bonuses.
The player’s agent Bruno Satin spoke to Gianluca di Marzio via Sempre Milan to say:
“Maignan is a top goalkeeper, he is the Bernard Lama heir. Mike always says that he was an example for him. Maignan would be an excellent choice for Milan in the event that Donnarumma does not renew. He grew up in the PSG academy, but at Lille he has grown a lot in all aspects: he is one of the fundamental players of Lille’s season.”
A L’Equipe journalist has commented on the situation via MilanNews.it:
“He grew up at Paris Saint-Germain as a young player and in training he was against Ibrahimovic, Cavani and Lavezzi. He already knows what the context of a big club is. He has the shoulders to handle this pressure. In the hierarchy of goalkeepers of the French national team he is now practically the second. After Lloris – who has been the first for many years – there is not much, there was Mandanda and Areola who are now a bit lost. However, I am sorry that Milan thinks of a foreign goalkeeper and not an Italian one. Before thinking of a foreign goalkeeper, I would probe the Italian market better.”
