AC Milan collapsed once again in a humiliating 2-0 loss at the hands of Joaquin Correa and Lazio. Milan kicked off so well with a quick counter attack and Calhanoglu stinging Reina’s gloves but the side lacked concentration early on and the defence was easily torn apart with a few passes allowing Correa to run at Donnarumma. He easily dribbled past the keeper and slotted home. Milan worked throughout the first half creating some dangerous attacks but did not capitalise and take their chances. Mario Mandzukic seemed anonymous and despite some good moves and runs of play, the Rossoneri just could not challenge Pepe Reina.
Early in the second half, Milan conceded off the break again as they committed too many players forward and then got caught out of position on Lazio counter. Correa was the menace again as he dribbled past Tomori and kept the ball before hitting the front post hard. Immobile added a third goal late in the game with a volley from inside the box as the defence was outclassed yet again.
Milan are collapsing at the most crucial phase of the season. Champions League looks seriously in doubt as the Juventus and Atalanta games loom. Stefano Pioli really needs to get a handle on the situation.
