After a terrible performance versus Sassuolo, AC Milan now faced Lazio on Monday night. This was a must win match for Milan to stay fighting in the race for Champions League. Milan came out swinging as they created a scoring chance within second of the match starting. However the chance led Milan thin at the back and Lazio took advantage going up 1-0. Milan lacked focus from the point on and it was evident. Later on in the second half Lazio scored again with a simple counter attack breaking down the Milan defence. However, VAR ruled the goal offside. After 45 minutes Milan looked dead down a goal.

The second half started where the first half left off, with Milan wasting chances and Lazio taking advantage. Just six minutes into the second half Milan were caught again and with terrible defending from Fikayo Tomori Lazio doubled their lead. Milan continued to do absolutely nothing for the rest of the match, they even left themselves more vulnerable but Ciro Immobile just hit the post. Later Immobile got another opportunity and made no mistake going up 3 goals. Matches like this are hard to watch as a fan, the team needs to perform and as you watch it is evident that they just aren't good enough at the moment. With few matches renaming Milan are dipping at the worst time and it is very possible that this team could drop down to 6th. Can us fans bare to think about another season without Champions League football?

STARTING LINE-UP

Gianluigi Donnarumma: Donnarumma didn't have the worst match but he did has some questionable plays. I am not going to blame him for the first Lazio goal as the defence should have done better but that was some shaky goalkeeping. 4.5/10

Davide Calabria: I didn't notice much of Calabria in this match, meaning that he was fairly ok. He was instructed to press very high up the pitch which led to many Lazio chances but can we really blame him for doing what he’s told. 5/10

Simon Kjaer: In my opinion both Kjaer and Tomori were terrible in this match. Both had direct mistakes on the Lazio goals and they were constantly outplayed by the Lazio forwards. 4/10

Fikayo Tomori: By far this was Tomori’s worst match. He was terrible on 2 of Lazio’s goals and had brain farts at times during the match. 4/10

Theo Hernandez: Theo didn't bring anything to this match. He was bad defending, and a non factor going forward. Maybe Serie A teams have figured him out. 4/10

Franck Kessie: Franck was ok in this match, maybe one of the better players. He constantly covered for Theo when he went froward and I can't really blame him with what happened on the offensive end. 5.5/10

Ismael Bennacer: A rough match for Bennacer. He made a horrendous mistake for Lazio’s first goal. He really didn't dominate the midfield as he usually does and when pressed he looked shaky. 4/10

Alexis Saelemaekers: Saelemaekers fought extremely hard in this match and he showed that he would die on the pitch. However, he is so wasteful in the final third and you HAVE to capitalize on your chances. 4.5/10

Hakan Calhanoglu: One thing I will say is like Saelemaekers, Hakan fought but also like Alexis he was so wasteful of the chances that he got. As the playmaker in the squad you cannot be the one to misplace every chance taken. 4.5/10

Ante Rebic: Rebic was awful in this match. He constantly got the ball and lost it without putting up a fight. His success in this match was vital and he didn't show up. 4/10

Mario Mandzukic: Mario was basically a ghost in this match. He didn't bring anything to the game but I can't really blame him because he wasn't give much of any service. 4.5/10

SUBSTITUTES

Rafael Leao: Came on didn't do much of anything and didn't have any service. 4/10

Brahim Diaz: Much like Leao, Diaz didn't do much. He came on dribbled and lost it as he usually does. 4/10

Diogo Dalot: Didn't notice much of a difference between him and Calabria. 4/10

Sandro Tonali: Tonali didn't have much time to get into the match but he did register a shot on towards goal. 4/10

Manager

Stefano Pioli: I think tactically Pioli got it wrong in this match. Forcing the fullbacks to press very high left the rest of the defence very exposed and this directly led to the Lazio goals. If this team continues to perform like this and he can't wrangle them together then it might be #Pioliout. 3.5/10
