AC Milan Women took on Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia Femminile semi finals second leg at Vismara yesterday. Milan went into the fixture down 2-1 after a shock loss away from home last month. The Rossonere came out of the gates blasting as Vero Boquete and Natasha Dowie shone in the huge 4-2 victory. Milan won the tie 5-4 on aggregate to secure their first Coppa Italia Femminile Final and a shot at some silverware.
Vero Boquete opened the scoring for the game and for Milan with a stunning move with three fakes and a shot from inside the box very early on. A few minutes later, she received an amazing through ball from Giacinti who headed the ball down for her to run at Inter’s keeper in a one-on-one situation where he dribbled past and slotted home. Milan thereafter conceded after a mistake from Hasegawa and lax defending from Agard at the 60th minute. Natasha Dowie was next to find the net with an easy tap in off a cross from the left wing. A few minutes later she headed in off a cross from the right wing. Milan went on to concede one more goal in additional time.
A huge win for the Rossonere who are so close to their first ever piece of silverware in their history. Let’s hope for a big win in the final!
