After vanquishing their previous opponents, the AC Milan Women will be back in action this Saturday where they’ll take on Inter Milan in the second leg of the Coppa Italia Femminile. They’ll be looking to get revenge against the Nerazzurre, who managed to beat them in what was frankly a bizarre and listless game from the Rossonere.

Prior to the match, the Rossonere’s Valentina Bergamaschi gave an interview to Milan TV where she spoke of upcoming challenge against Inter. Bergamaschi has had a great season, where she’s scored two goals and has provided three assists.

Here are the highlights of her interview with Milan TV.

On the game against Napoli

“I think that on paper, the game was easy, but Napoli came here off the back of two important results. We all know their strength: determination. It has been their main strength up until now.

“We were facing a team that needs to avoid relegation, so I think the result was a result of our maturity which we overcame very well.”

On maintaining a consistent standard

“It is not easy to uphold high standards for the entire season, we’ve had our highs and lows but the strength of our group has always helped us get back up and we work to continue improving.”

On being at AC Milan

“Being at AC Milan is a great honor for me and my teammates. We want to add to the club’s great history. We want to make history as the AC Milan Women. We know it won’t’ be easy. There aren’t many games left and we know how important each is. From here on, they’re all finals, and we’re going to do our best to reach the final because we know it’s within reach as is Champions League qualification which last season disappeared before our eyes.”

On the pride of playing for your country

“Playing for the national team is an honor for all of us, each for their own country. And it gives us something extra to take out onto the field.”

About the losses against Juve and Inter

“They were two difficult games that we’ve analyzed, learning from the positive and the negatives so that we could improve. These are the games that motivated us to work harder so that we can show our worth and the strength of our group, which I think we’ve shown.

“We have the last few matches, they’re all finals, and we’re going to do our best. I think we have the qualities to do well, we’re training really well as a united team and we’re determined to reach the final.

We’ll do our best.”

About what it’s like to play the Derby della Madonnina

“The Derby della Madonnina is always the best one to play. It’s not just a regular derby as a place in the final is up for grabs, so we’ll be even more motivated to win and make it to the Coppa italia final.”
