AC Milan Women Beat Napoli 4-0 To Get Closer To Clinch Champions League Spot

AC Milan Women took on Napoli and came away with a convincing victory that is vital to their qualification to the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Milan won 4 - 0 with goals from Valentina Bergamaschi, Yui Hasegawa, Valentina Giacinti and Natasha Dowie.

Bergamaschi opened the scoring with an easy tap in after the keeper spilled Tucceri Cimini’s cross. Hasegawa scored a hilarious goal as she headed home off a rebound from the keeper punching out the ball after Vero’s cross. Dowie scored another rebound after Giacinti’s shot was saved and she managed to knock in the loose ball. Finally, Giacinti capped off the game at Vismara with a good finish on the turn from a cleared ball into the box.

The weekend was important as third placed Sassuolo lost to league leaders Juventus widening the gap between 2nd and 3rd to eight points allowing Milan some breathing room. There are four match days to go hence Milan can close off the UCL race soon.
