AC Milan via their website are reporting that the fines paid by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku for their spat in the derby between AC Milan and Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia will go to charity. The clubs will donate the money to charity as they consider the incident “not in keeping with the shared principles of sporting fair play.”

The incident took place in the quarter final on the 26th of January where Milan got eliminated and Ibrahimovic was eventually sent off in the second half.

As per the statement, ‘In line with their values, AC Milan and FC Internazionale Milano also undertake to donate the sums of the penalties that will be imposed following the required plea bargain pursuant to art. 126 CGS FIGC.’

There was an investigation into the comments made by Ibrahimovic and he was found not to have made an racist remarks in the exchange with Lukaku.
