AC Milan took on Genoa at the San Siro yesterday morning and picked up a vital three points in the race to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. Milan looked out of ideas for majority of the game as Genoa used their physicality to break up our play and keep us from establishing a good flow. Milan received two boosts as both Juventus and Napoli dropped points yesterday giving them a bit of an edge going into the final seven games of the season which include showdowns with Juventus and Atalanta.

Ante Rebic played particularly well creating a number of chances, he scored the opener with a stunning left footed volley early in the first half with a shot off the cuff. The Croatia international also missed a sitter later on in the game. Milan were pulled back level by a Mattia Destro header before the end of the first half. Milan struggled in the second half but managed to force an own goal from a corner when Mario Mandzukic’s movement caused chaos in the box. Simon Kjaer and Fikayo Tomori made two goal line clearances at the 87th minute to save Milan from flopping again.
