AC Milan has struggled for results in the month of March due to numerous injury issues especially in attack. Milan missed out on the strikers Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Mandzukic, the latter joined in the winter transfer window and barely played for the Rossoneri as he struggled with injuries since his arrival. The new arrival is yet to score or provide an assist for the club. Reports have emerged that the player has foregone his wages for the month of March as he felt he did not contribute due to his injury. An extremely professional gesture from the former Juventus, Bayern Munich and Atlético Madrid attacker.
Milan’s President Paolo Scaroni said in an interview with ANSA via MilanNews.it:
“An exceptional gesture which demonstrates the ethics and professionalism of Mario Mandzukic and his respect for Milan. The Club will thus have the opportunity to further support the Milan Foundation for projects in favour of young people in conditions of socio-economic and educational fragility, in which sport is a tool for social inclusion.”
