AC Milan Set To Miss Out On 15 Million This Summer As On Loan Centre Back Will Not Be Bought By Atalanta

The defender remains one of the big blunders of the recent years and he cannot seem to stay fit.

Corriere della Sera via MilanNews.it are reporting that AC Milan loanee Mattia Caldara who has spent the past season and a half at his old club with a buy out set at 15-16 million euros. The defender struggled for fitness whilst at Milan since joining from Juventus and has had similar struggles since returning to Atalanta. He has played just 113 minutes of football this season hence Atalanta are not keen to redeem him.

The agent of the player Beppe Riso spoke to Tuttosport via Calcio Mercato are confirmed that the player will likely return to Milan this summer after an 18 month loan in Bergamo as his injury struggles make it unlikely for him to be purchased outright even with the huge discount at 15 million euros.

MilanNews.it are reporting that Milan’s manager Stefano Pioli will likely assess Caldara during the pre-season and decide whether to keep him or put him on the market given the populated area. Milan currently have Simon Kjaer, Alessio Romagnoli, Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia and Pierre Kalulu as centre backs on the squad.
