AC Milan took on Hellas Verona on the road yesterday afternoon with a heavily decimated squad as Tonali, Rebic, Hernadez and Hauge were late doubts for the game and thus were not featured (except for Hauge off the bench). Three players who had been awful in recent weeks really stepped up and put in match winning performances, these were: Rade Krunic, Diogo Dalot and Soualiho Meite. Krunic opened the scoring with a sublime free kick in the first half after winning a free kick on the edge of the opposition box. This was his second goal of the season. In the early second half, Saelemaekers, Leao and Dalot ran at Verona’s defence and combined well to exchange ahead of the defence where Dalot dribbled his way through and fired a rocket into the top right corner to cap off a huge 2-0 win with most of the starters out injured. Donnarumma got a clean sheet as Romagnoli and Tomori looked solid. The win keeps Milan close to Inter Milan and just above Juventus in the table.
