AC Milan via their website have announced that right back Davide Calabria underwent surgery to resolve the issue with the medial meniscus of his right knee. The keyhole surgery, carried out at the La Madonnina clinic by Doctor Roberto Pozzoni with the Club’s medical chief Doctor Stefano Mazzoni in attendance, was a complete success. Recovery time is estimated to be around 30 days.
This means Calabria is likely out until the tail end of the season. He has been one of the most consistent performers hence this is a huge blow for Stefano Pioli’s side.
Sky Italia via MilanNews.it are reporting that Alessio Romagnoli and Davide Calabria will now miss out on reporting for Italy during the international break due to their respective injuries. Calabria sustained his injury in England when facing Manchester United a week ago.
The side will now need to rely on youngster Pierre Kalulu and loanee Diogo Dalot for a critical part of the season.
