AC Milan duo Gianluigi Donnarumma and Theo Hernandez named amongst the AIC’s Top 11 in Serie A for the 2019/20 season at the Gran Gala del Calcio 2021.
Donnarumma was selected as the best goalkeeper for the season in a season where he was the vice captain and was a crucial part of Milan’s long unbeaten run to secure a Europa League finish after a tumultuous start. Donnarumma played 36 games in the league where he kept 13 clean sheets. The 21 year old (at the time) captained Milan for the final three games of the season in the absence of Alessio Romagnoli and helped Milan cap out an important season.

Hernandez was selected as the best left back in the league for the season for his incredible attacking quality and decisiveness. This was the Frenchman’s first season in Italy and he ripped the league apart bringing unseen pace from the left back position and an unheard of goal threat. He managed to score 6 goals and provide 5 assist in 33 appearances in the league. He was a critical pat of Stefano Pioli’s attack and helped Milan stay afloat early on with some match winners.
