AC Milan travelled to England to face Manchester United in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 clash at Old Trafford. Milan went into the game with a decimated squad missing almost the entirety of their attack. Milan dominated the game controlling possession and stifling any approaches from the opposition. Milan were ridiculously denied their opening goal from the brilliant Franck Kessie for a supposed hand ball but all the replays clearly show that decision was absurd. Nonetheless, Milan were more threatening throughout the game. United stunned Milan early in the second half when Amad Diallo managed to head over Gianluigi Donnarumma to score against the run of play. Milan continued to dominate the game and were given some respite in the additional minutes of the game. Krunic swung in a cross from the corner and Simon Kjaer rose up and made some good contact to get it past the Henderson to pick up the all important away goal. The game ended 1-1 as Milan hope to welcome back at least four starters for the next leg.
