MilanNews.it are reporting that AC Milan continue to work on the renewals for two key players who have contracts running out in the summer transfer window just a few months away. Vice captain, goalkeeper and cult hero Gianluigi Donnarumma is up for renewal again alongside Creative star, trequartista Hakan Calhanoglu. Both players are core parts of the current squad who make a huge impact on the performance of the side.

The current update is that there remains small distances between the offer and the demand on the finances for both players. The desire of both players is to remain and hopefully this proves strong enough to get a deal through.

Paolo Maldini spoke to BEIN Sports via MilanNews.it and said,

“We have three players expiring, and we also have contracts expiring in 2022. But it is normal practice, we are working. I always say that two of us need to be happy to reach an agreement, the players are professionals and they think about 100% in the field. The hope is to find an agreement soon.”

Milan are also keeping an eye on the contracts expiring in the summer of 2022 that includes Alessio Romagnoli, Simon Kjaer, Franck Kessie and Davide Calabria.
