Coming into this match Milan were in second place and needed a win to go back to the top of the table and compete with Inter Milan. Milan again had to field a lineup that saw Leao at attacking mid plus new boys Tomori and Meite starting. Just 6 minutes in it seemed like Milan scored with a beautiful play finished off by Davide Calabria but it was deemed offside. Milan kept attacking and in the 30th minute a great play between Leao and Zlatan saw the latter score his 500th club goal to make it 1-0. At the half AC Milan were up.

The second half told a very similar story as Milan continued to attack and look for more goals. In the 64th minute another goal came and it was Zlatan again but this time it was Theo Hernandez giving him the pass. However the goals didn't stop there as Ante Rebic scored two goals within a minute of each other to put Milan up 4-0. Milan held strong from there and finished with a clean sheet.

STARTING LINE-UP

Gianluigi Donnarumma: Donnarumma made the one key save in the first half when Ounas tried to curl it in but otherwise has a quiet match. He did play well with his feet as Milan often went back to him to regroup a his distribution was solid. 6.8/10

Davide Calabria: Another top drawer performance from the right back. He could have scored twice in the first half and continues to grow as an attacking threat. Defensively he was great on the one-on-ones left the back post unguarded on a few occasions. 7.5/10

Fikayo Tomori: Growing in confidence and offering a good passing dimension. Tomori has looked good and his speed in a great asset to the squad. He has a good level of pressure and knows how to manage close contact situations. He looks comfortable and is partnering well with Romagnoli. 7/10

Alessio Romagnoli: Similarly to last time out. Romagnoli did his job, was not amazing, had some nervy moments but held up well. He did pick up a silly yellow card. 6/10

Theo Hernandez: A hit and miss performance for Theo. He provided and incredible assist for Ibrahimovic in the first half and made a blistering run down the wing to lay off to Leao but did waste a lot of opportunities ramming shots at the defenders. He needs some better judgement and he will be even more productive. 6/10

Soualiho Meite: A good display from him. His aggression helped slow down Crotone's ttacks and even led to the sequence for the fourth goal of the game. He showed off his ability to pull off long passes thus did well overall. 6.5/10

Franck Kessie: Great as usual. Very composed in breaking up play, distributed the ball well and covered for the defence when needed. 7/10

Alexis Saelemaekers: Tough game for the Belgian as he struggled to impose himself going forward then bumbled the two big chances he had to make an impact. A lack of communication with Leao meant the both went in for a shot wasting the chance. When he had space to whip in a good cross, he skied it. Worked hard in defence though. 5.5/10

Rafael Leao: Leao showed his versatility and maturity in adopting yet another new role. He did not make as much of an impact as he could but against produced moments of magic such as the brilliant one-two with Ibrahimovic. 6.5/10

Ante Rebic: What a cathartic game for Rebic. You could see the relief and frustration all at once when he volleyed the ball into the back of the net for his second. Very good overall performance making dangerous runs on the left wing and amazing strength to win the header a score his first. 7/10

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: He got a milestone scoring his 500th career club goal and created the chance out of nothing. Pure class performance getting a much deserved brace. He looked isolated on occasion but took the opportunities when presented. 7.5/10

SUBSTITUTES

Samu Castillejo: Samu is Samu at this point and at least he is consistent, he runs and defends which helps the team but for offence he didn't do much. 5.7/10

Hakan Calhanoglu: Within minutes of coming in Hakan got two assists and two very nice assists. Once Hakan stepped onto the pitch he changed the way the team played. Leao was serviceable at that position but Hakan is clearly steps above. 8/10

Jens Petter Hauge: Huge came on late and didn't have much time to do anything. However, there was an instance where he gave it right to Crotone which led to an easy scoring chance. 5.5/10

Mario Mandzukic: Mario didn't have many opportunities to shine but he did come close to scoring off a corner which was just narrowly cleared off the line. Like I've said previously Mario has got some legs left. 6/10

Rade Krunic: ? N/A
