AC Milan took on last placed Crotone at the San Siro and came away with an astounding victory as Milan's key attackers all came away with some incredible stats from the game. It started off slow as Rafael Leao adjusted to his new trequartista role and Milan had a number of half chances. At the 30th minute, a moment of sheer brilliance from Zlatan Ibrahimovic to exchange a clever one-two with Leao then curl past the keeper at a tight angle heralded in the 500th career club goal. Milan went up 1-0 but the game got bogged down in a scrappy midfield battle. Hakan Calhanoglu was brought on at the 61st minute and the team naturally went up a gear as they scored 3 goals in 10 minutes after he came on. The first was a god exchange between Ante Rebic and Theo Hernandez allowing the left back to break free and square the ball to the back post for Ibrahimovic to tap in. Thereafter, Calhnaoglu whipped in a superb cross for Rebic to outmuscle the centre back and score in his second consecutive game. About 30 seconds later, Soualiho Meite won the ball from kick off and let the attack loose with Ibrahimovic taking a wicked shot, Calhanoglu putting the rebound back into the box for Rebic to sweetly smash into the back of the net. It was an emphatic ten minutes showing the incredible impact of the Turkey international who came away with two assists. Milan slowed down thereafter as Mario Mandzukic and Jens Petter Hauge came on but the job was done. Gianluigi Donnarumma also got to keep a clean sheet as Fikayo Tomori and Alessio Romagnoli impressed. Back to the top.
