Yesterday, AC Milan announced that forward Miriam Longo underwent arthroscopic surgery.

The surgery for was an injury to her right shoulder. There is speculation that it may have been for a shoulder injury that she had sustained earlier in the season.

The forward has not featured much for the Rossonere this season. So far, she’s only played sixty minutes for Milan this season. She has also scored only one goal.

Last season, Longo played a total of three matches and notched up 137 minutes. One can’t help but wonder if her diminished playing time was due to this undiagnosed injury.

Either way, let’s hope that Miriam will make a full recovery from her surgery and join the Rossonere on the pitch again.

Milan will be in action again against San Marino this Sunday, at 12:30 p.m. CET. While Longo might not be with her team on the field, she will be with them in spirit. And let’s hope that Milan can make her feel better by pulling off a victory on that day.
