AC Milan were one of the participants in the UEFA Europa League round of 16 draw in Nyon this afternoon after knocking out Crvena Zvezda of the round of 32 on away goals after a 3-3 draw on aggregate. As announced from the draw, Milan have been pitted against English side Manchester United which is easily one of the hardest clashes of the available lot. Milan will play away on the 11th of March and at home on the 18th of March.

Manchester United currently sit in 2nd place on the Premier League table with 49 points in 25 games. Milan by comparison have 49 points in 23 games. United fell out of the UEFA Champions League in a group where PSG and RB Leipzig advanced.

Note: If you believe in fate, this might be an interesting note. When Milan won the 2007 Champions League, they faced LOSC Lille, Celtic FC, Crvena Zvezda and Manchester United on the route to the title. Milan have somehow faced the same teams in this year's Europa League. We'll take every bit of luck we can take, hopefully Hakan Calhanoglu magically pulls off a Kaka wonder goal in England in a few weeks.
