Calcio Mercato are reporting that AC Milan are closing in on a renewal deal for right back Davide Calabria as his contract expires in the summer of 2022 and he has been one of the top performers of the squad in the 2020/21 season. The former Primavera defender broke into the first team early on but took time to adjust and truly hold down the spot beating out competitions from Andrea Conti and Diogo Dalot.

The plan is to renew his contract extending his deal until 2025 with a wage increase from 1.1. million euros to 1.7 million euros with possible bonuses. The player is reportedly happy with the economic terms and is willing to remain with Milan. Calabria was under a lot of criticism last summer and might have been sold for the capital gains but he has turned all this around and is an important part of Stefano Pioli's system now.

24 year old Calabria has 139 first team appearances in 6 seasons where he has scored 5 goals and provided 8 assists in all competitions.
