MilanNews.it have provided some injury updates on AC Milan's squad regarding some key players especially in the midfield. The Rossoneri have struggled with sickness (coronavirus), injuries and suspensions throughout the season. In the previous game against Crotone, Simon Kjaer, Ismael Bennacer, Brahim Diaz and Sandro Tonali were absent. The updates on the players are as follows:

  • Kjaer - Thigh muscle issue - He trained on a individual program but is yet to work with the group. He is on course to recover in a week or so hence can play in the derby.
  • Bennacer - Fever or Bronchitis - He has fully recovered from his illness. He trained with the squad and took part in all parts of the session. He should be available for the next game.
  • Diaz - Thigh muscle issue - He is working on a personalised therapy and will likely need a longer period to recover hence will likely be out until the end of the month.
  • Tonali - Muscle discomfort - He is working on his own for the moment. He could return to training with the group by the end of the week thus could return for the derby.

MilanLive.it are also noting that Davide Calabria will miss the game against Spezia due to a suspension hence only Bennacer is expected to play at this point.
