AC Milan faced off with FC Porto at the San Siro last night and came away with their first point in the UEFA Champions League 2021/22 campaign. Milan have lost three games and drawn one which pretty much rules us out of a round of 16 spot unless some crazy events occur in the final two match days.
Milan struggled in the first half as we conceded in the 6th minute from Luis Diaz again. Milan’s defence did not look up to par and slow for majority of the game hence Otavio and Diaz caused lots of issues coming down the wings. In attack, both Saelemaekers and Leao looked lethargic and short of ideas. Diaz looked rusty while Giroud was starved of service.
Milan managed to claw back and score an equaliser in the second half when substitute Kalulu forced an own goal following a messy free kick routine where Giroud’s shot was saved but not cleared. Ibrahimovic scored but it was ruled offside as the Rossoneri struggled to break through Pepe and Mbemba. A win in the next game against Atletico Madrid could set up a really interesting finale to the Group of Death.
