Milan should look to give the manager faith in the long term if the results continue as they are.

AC Milan are reportedly looking to open further contract renewal talks with manager Stefano Pioli as they appreciate his work. He currently has an extension clause built into his current contract but could be set for a longer deal and a higher pay.

Pioli speaking to Il Giornale via MilanNews.it has said:

“I have never felt precarious. Because I always believed the words spoken by Gazidis a few hours before the match against Genoa. He said in front of the players: ‘We are all under scrutiny, we give everything and in the end, it will be decided, do not listen to the media because no choice has been made’.

“So I never felt on the way out of Milan, not even when I was reading the headlines on Rangnick. In my head, the contract doesn’t expire. I have a symbiotic relationship with Maldini, Massara and Gazidis. I’m doing well at Milanello and we all have the same ambitions.”

He also spoke at the Festival of Sport via MilanNews.it to say:

“We need new structures. In Europe, the stadiums are much more modern and are used to welcoming a young audience. We could start with that to improve. I hope to be the manager of Milan at the new stadium.”
