AC Milan on their website have officially announced the contract extension of centre BACK Simon Kjaer until the summer of 2024. The Denmark international has had an exceptional year and has been a core part of Stefano Pioli’s backline since he joined in January 2020. Kjaer has played 66 games for Milan since scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists. The defender has been named in the 30 man shortlist for Ballon d’Or this season as well.
The 32 year old will reportedly earn 1.5 million euro per season according to Gazzetta dello Sporta via MilanNews.it. This marks a net pay rise of 300k euros per year.
Kjaer said in his press conference via MilanNews.it:
“Milan has always been the greatest club in the world for me, due to its history. There have been many great defenders. It is a dream that I am living every day, I am ready to give everything. 2024, I hope to win something before I go away.”
