MilanNews.it are reporting that AC Milan are currently in talks with Algerian midfielder Ismael Bennacer to renew his contract with the club. The central midfielder joined from Empoli in the summer of 2019 and has been a core figure next to Franck Kessie in the middle of the park. The 23 year old was engaged in contract talks toward the end of the summer but these were put on hold while his agent completed the deal for Yacine Adli to join the Rossoneri. The current contract of the midfielder expires in 2024 and he currently earns just 1.5 million euros per year.
Nicolo Schira is reporting that Milan are eager to get on with the talks as they would like to remove the 50 million euro release clause in the contract of the midfielder as this could easily be triggered by the likes of PSG and Manchester City who have been linked with the player previously. The opening bid from Milan is for a renewal at 2.8 million euros per year until 2026.
