AC Milan have officially announced on their website the contract renewal of right winger Alexis Saelemaekers. The Belgium international gets an improved deal for 5 years until the summer of 2026. The attacked was signed from Anderlecht initially on a 6 month loan but Milan took up their option to buy him permanently in the summer of 2020. Milan paid about 7 million euros for him with half being the loan fee and half the buy out clause.
Saelemaekers has since played 64 games for the Rossoneri in his season and a half at the club scoring 4 goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions. He has become an undisputed starter thanks to his work rate pushing Samu Castillejo to the bench.
All outlets are reporting a salary increase for the 22 year old but none state an actual figure. As per previous reports, he was earning 1 million euros per year at the start of the season.
