AC Milan have announced on their website that attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz has tested positive for the coronavirus. The attacker returned from international duty with the Spain U21 side last week and will now miss a number of games for the club including the Hellas Verona fixture tonight and the FC Porto crunch tie in the UEFA Champions League in the mid week. Diaz has been crucial for Milan since he took the no. 10 jersey scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists in the opening 9 games of the season.

He is the second player to be ruled out due to COVID-19 this week for Milan as Theo Hernandez tested positive too and is in quarantine too.

As per the official statement,

“[Brahim] tested positive in a swab carried out today. The player is doing well and is in isolation at home. The whole team has been tested with a negative result.

Close monitoring with swab tests will follow according to the indications provided by the relevant health authorities, who were immediately informed.”
