Gianluca di Marzio is reporting that AC Milan have reached an agreement to sign free agent Antonio Mirante immediately following the decision for Mike Maignan to undergo surgery on his left wrist. The 38 year old keeper is a Serie A journeyman playing for Parma, Bologna, AS Roma, Sampdoria and even Juventus (but in Serie B) with 368 appearances in the top flight. The movement from the management has been swift given Alessandro Plizzari is also out with injury and Ciprian Tatarusanu cannot likely handle all competitions on his own.

Daniele Longo is reporting that the former AS Roma shot stopper will sign a one year contract with the club to compete with Ciprian Tatarusanu and cover Maignan while he is away.

Antonio Vitiello is reporting that Mirante underwent some checks at the Columbus clinic this morning before heading to the La Madonnina clinic for the rest of his medicals. He will likely sign his contract at Casa Milan later in the day before an official announcement arrives.
