MilanNews.it are reporting that AC Milan will miss out on new signing Alessandro Florenzi for weeks as the player must undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee due to a meniscal issue. The former AS Roma captain underwent tests in Rome yesterday and will undergo surgery today thus is not expected to feature for a while.

Milan could get a number of players back for the clash against Atalanta this weekend as new signing Junior Messias will be available to Stefano Pioli and part of the squad for the first time. Simon Kjaer will also return to the squad and may start in the place of Alessio Romagnoli for the crunch tie. Brahim Diaz has quickly overcome his minor injury but needs some rest during the international break. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is improving but will not be called up, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Rade Krunic will rejoin training but not be available for the upcoming game.
