AC Milan via their website are reporting that trequartista Hakan Calhanoglu has tested negative for the coronavirus after missing out for about two weeks. The Turkey international missed critical games against Atalanta and Inter Milan that the Rossoneri lost. Milan have struggled with quite a number of cases of the past couple of months and this has affected the performance of the squad as key players have missed out on extended stretches.
Calhanoglu was not included in the squad to travel to face Bologna as there are a number of medicals screenings he had to undertake before being able to resume footballing activities. The player could return in the coming fixtures as Brahim Diaz is out with an injury and Stefano Pioli is short of other options.
Calhanoglu has thus far featured in 24 games for Milan this season where he has scored 6 times and provided 9 assists in all competitions. He will be a crucial addition to the squad as Milan attempt to hold onto first place.
