AC Milan via their website have officially announced the permanent transfer of centre back Mateo Musacchio to Lazio six months ahead of his contract expiring at the club. The defender was in Rom to undertake his medicals yesterday and passed thus closing the deal. The Argentina international joined Milan in the summer of 2017 under Massimo Mirabelli and becomes the latest name from the transfer window to be shipped out following Andrea Conti's exit a week ago. The defender has made 75 appearances with Milan in his three and a half seasons at the club but fell on hard times as he was pushed aside by Leonardo Bonucci in his first season, Simon Kjaer in his third season and an injury this season. He only ever played consistently under Gennaro Gattuso in the 2018/19 season and early on in the 2019/20 season under Marco Giampaolo. Musacchio scored two goals in his time with the Rossoneri and one of these came against Inter Milan in the league.
