AC Milan Women travelled to face Florentia San Gimignano as they continue the long road to hold onto the Champions League spot. The Rossonere currently sit in second place and held onto their spot with a 2-1 victory thanks to an incredible brace from striker and captain Valentina Giacinti. Milan opened the scoring by Giacinit tapping in after a messy spell of play where Florentia failed to clear the ball from their box. Milan were pulled back level when a miscommunication led to the ball rolling to Anghileri who slotted past Maria Korenciova. Vero Boquere hit the post in the 44th minute while Natasha Dowie fired a rocket at the keeper in the 47th minute. In the 65 minute, substitute Mauri got hold of the ball in the box and squared back to Giacinti who calmly directed the ball into the goal for the winner. Milan survived a late onslaught thanks to Korenciova who saved a point blank shot late in the game securing the 11th win of the season for the Rossonere.
